The fishermen clean all waste from the ocean, not just PET but also PP, PA, metal, rubber, glass and other materials. The PET marine waste used for the Fibre represents around 10% of the total waste retrieved, therefore for every kilo of the Fibre produced one kilo of waste is cleaned from the ocean*. It then gets turned into flakes, then pellets and sent to our factory in Spain. The pellets get binded into yarn then made into our clothing.
WHATS POLYMER IS FIBRE MADE FROM?
Why is the % of marine waste not higher?
The FIBRE is currently available as either a 100% Ocean recycled polyester or and organic cotton (35%) Ocean Plastic (25%) and (40%) landfill recycled plastic blend.
This composition allows us to up-cycle as much of the waste recovered from the ocean as possible whilst offering a premium fiber which can replace virgin polyester in any application. At higher percentages we would need to be more selective of the marine waste we use resulting in less of the recovered marine waste being upcycled and instead being sent to landfill or incineration.

can the fiber be recycled?
where is the fibre produced?
Yes, the FIBRE is recycled.
The fibre is weaved and dyed in Europe and then processed for cutting and construction.
